What is Answer Phone?

Answer Phone FTP is a script that I have made for Messenger Plus! Live. It is designed to record and display messages that are received when the user is not at the computer. These are displayed in a main logging window, with time stamps. This provides an interface for reading recorded messages, and opening a chat with the sender.

Messages which are logged can be uploaded to an FTP server. This is perfect for remotely accessing messages which are sent when away from the computer, especially in conjunction with the auto-reply facility, which replies with a set message to every message logged.

The program is highly customisable, with settings saved per-email-address. Logging can be turned on and off individually for different statuses, including Idle, Online and Appear Offline. The logfile can be uploaded to FTP at specified intervals, such as every x minutes, or when the status changes.

If you have any queries about Answer Phone FTP,  please email me or comment on this site. Regularly updated information will be posted on this blog, under the “Answer Phone” category.
